Hello everybody, and welcome back to my blogosphere. I hope that you are doing well wherever you call home, and that your holiday preparations are well underway. If you are a person of faith, may the season bring you warmth, light, and renewal. If you fall into the secular crowd, may the season bring you peace and comfort as the cycle of life continues its march forward.
Renewal has been on my mind lately. 2025 has brought a lot of change for many of us. This year, I visited places I never expected to see, especially as a middle-aged American facing various challenges and questioning what it means to be American right now.
It is in the spirit of renewal that I am dedicating time back to my blog and documenting my experiences abroad as I explore those themes and more. It’s an overdue practice that I got away from. Discipline is what makes things happen, and sadly, I have been anything but disciplined in my writing lately. So, you can expect more frequent posts from me going forward. Maybe not on a weekly basis, but definitely on a more consistent basis. Perhaps every other week? Also, I intend to add some video content to my blog. So, you may see some short clips in between blog posts. I don’t know yet, but I’ll figure it out. Lucky you. Or something to that effect.
So, where does this leave us in the story arc of my Thai experience? (See what I did there). Well, as a quick overview, I left Thailand much earlier than anticipated, so my story there just sort of… fizzes out. Nothing bad happened while I was there, but my journey had to come to an end. It has been said that Thailand will always give you what you need, not necessarily what you want. Spiritually, Thailand did exactly that. I learned more about myself and made more lifelong friends than I ever could have imagined. I grew, evolved, and got a glimpse of what it does mean to be an American in today’s world. However, the spiritual sense that I get from Thailand is that before I can return and fully unlock all that Thailand is, I have to “level up” first. So, I will continue to write about Thailand and my experiences in the Land of Smiles, but there will be fewer posts regarding my time there. At least for now. The opportunity here will be to figure out how to categorically organize my blog posts, so I can keep everything relevant, but that’s a problem for after the New Year.
In the meantime, I leave you with this photo as a hint for where I am in the world and what I’m up to. If you like what you see, be sure to like and Subscribe. Until next time, be kind and stay curious.
